Jon Hamm Recently Completed Alcohol Rehab

Just as the final season of Mad Men is about to start, we are learning that actor Jon Hamm, who plays the troubled ad-exec Don Draper, completed a stint in rehab for alcohol addiction. Hamm entered Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut, at the end of February.

His publicist Annett Wolf said in a statement that Hamm, 43, was supported in this process by his longtime partner, actress-filmmaker Jennifer Westfeldt, and that the couple has requested “privacy and sensitivity going forward.”

In 2010 Hamm told People magazine that he had struggled with depression after the death of his father, who died when he was 20. His mother had died of stomach cancer when Hamm was 10. He has been treated with antidepressants.

The final season of Mad Men begins on April 5 on AMC.
